6 Years Later: Ground Zero Recalled
August 30, 2007 (Wilmington, DE) — On the morning of September 11th, 2001, Lou Angeli was brewing coffee when he glanced at his TV just in time to see the second jet slam into the south tower of the World Trade Center. He stood motionless, kowing that the FDNY would soon engage in the most harrowing event in US history.
Moments later he received instructions to head for New York in his dual role; as a first responder firefighter and also as a producer of disaster training films. For the next 16 nights and days thereafter, he recorded footage at the “Ground Zero” site.
As both a firefighter and a cameraman, he faced a dilemma; should his role as a firefighter take precedence over his responsibilities to document historic tragedy? As one of only two sanctioned videographers within the yellow tape perimeter Lou Angeli would have to do both.
Firefighters, urban search and rescue workers, welders, iron-workers, crane operators, construction professionals, rescue dogs and their handlers went well beyond the boundaries of their job, putting in hundreds of hours as volunteers, to try to find survivors and later to do what was needed when rescue became recovery.
Their tireless efforts could not save the victims of that tragic day, but Angeli says, “Their care and commitment allowed hundreds of families to find closure.”
Fast forward to January 2004 at an international bbroadcasting convention in Las Vegas. As he attended seminars and walked the trade show aisles. Lou Angeli was bombarded by distributors who suggested that he develop a documentary of his 9/11 experience.
Angeli had been reluctant to make his footage public due to the sensitive nature of this horrific event and the deep wounds it had inflicted in the hearts of Americans. But other film professionals talked to him about how this footage could be woven into a worthy story. One that paid tribute to the fallen, remembered the heroes, and touched on some of the lessons to be learned.
Angeli noticed during his Ground Zero experience the enormous contribution made by thousands of volunteers, everyday people, who supported the rescue and relief workers.
“They worked tirelessly to provide water, food, supplies and human connection to the rescue and recovery workers, and were among Ground Zero’s unsung heroes.” Angeli recalls.
Within days of the convention, Angeli began work on a 9/11 documentary that dealt specifically with Ground Zero’s volunteers. He titled the film “Answering The Call” and convinced actress Kathleen Turner, who he had met at Ground Zero, to serve as narrator.
With that first 24 hours serving as a backdrop, Answering the Call weaves the stories of rescue and support volunteers at Ground Zero as it develops its own identity and energy. What happened there illustrates the power of the human spirit in the midst of an unimaginable tragedy. “We were all a brother and a sister at Ground Zero.” one volunteer recalls.
The interviews with the volunteers uncovered new facets of the story as well as identifying additional types of volunteers who were so essential to the mission. For some who were interviewed, it was the first time they actually reflected on their experience; having become like family with those that they never saw again away from the perimeter.
The film was released on the 5th anniversary of 9/11/01 and aired internationally to audiences in China, Italy, UK, France, Portugal, Spain — but not in the USA. “Americans will have an opportunity to see ‘Answering The Call’ on the 10th anniversary.’ Angeli notes. ‘and every anniversary thereafter.”
The film and his diary serve as an important historical document, one that describes America’s worst day — and Americans at their best.

tri jkl k rt rt ang is the angle if kh kh if altitude = 12 = 40 and JK clear JL (short side)?
I have the answer in the back of the book, just do not understand how they got there. Could you show me the work?
We need more data to resolve this problem. Is there anything that gives about the angles or any other side?
