Chase Impound
I found my stolen car, didn’t report it right away, and it was impounded bc robber got in chase with cops.
My car was stolen between sunday night and monday morning, but I found it in the same place I had parked with the window smashed and the steering column shroud hanging. My boyfriend helped me put the shroud back together because I had to get to school (first day of the quarter), even though he insisted I call it in I said no bc we were running behind. We parked it near his house the next day (garbage day..bad parking) and I drove to school again, and this morning (wednesday) it had been impounded by the police because apparently someone stole the car and got into chases with the police when it had been taken sometime on sunday or monday. I filed a report this morning bc i thought it had been stolen (again!) and that’s how I found out what happened. Its in evidence, I don’t think they’ll be able to find prints because my boyfriend brother and I all touched the Steering Wheel column area and I gave some friends rides. What can the police do with it, and how long will they keep it?
Wow thats a helluva situation…lol…but yeah they can hold till the case is over at which time it could either be given (by the court) to the polide dept for auction, etc. or they could just give it back to you… I would just collect insurance money on it and forget about it. If it’s messed up what’s the point!
one more thing….NEVER NEVER NEVER do this again!
